230514 Update : Failed the application :(
Alright, just sharing. I wish to note this memorable experience down too, I want it to be remembered for the rest of my life.
Well I'll just start from the very beginning.
Once my results was released, right on the next day (21st March) I logged on to The JPA Website to apply online. I personally want JPA the most, more than the others, so I applied this first :p
I was required to choose among four countries : Germany, France, Japan and Korea. I chose Korea at the first place, influenced by Chin Chan lol. I reconsidered, like what mum and Ber said, if I wanna go I might as well choose the best, what for choosing the others just for the sake of going.
At the very last minute, just 2 hours before the closing time (5pm on 27th March) , I changed my choice to Germany instead of Korea. LOL.
I didn't tell Chin Chan, but he really helped me a lot in many ways, I was thinking: What if I tell him I'm not going to Korea anymore? :/ So at last he asked, and I told, and I kinda kena belasah lol.
But right now, I didn't regret for choosing Germany. (yet)
Waited for around 2 weeks and finally I was able to check whether I was called for interview on the 11th of April. I logged on to the website again, checked and I kinda expected already, I will be able to attend the interview which indeed I did.
I remember I just woke up from a nap when I saw the interview notification. I literally has gone into a crazy mental state.
This is the thing :/ |
Did you see that? Kelompok 1. Yes, holy -.-
I was in a nervous situation for the whole 3 days, staying in front of the pc all day, reading what the seniors experienced during the interview. But unfortunately none of their tips and tricks worked. THEY'VE CHANGED THE FORMAT. What's wrong with my batch they keep on changing the format -.-
I borrowed a pair of baju kebaya from Soo, coincidentally. Mum requested her friend to look for baju kurung of my size (you know la, short people, very hard to find clothes lol). So she found Soo's baju kebaya, I was kinda worried earlier, I wasn't sure whether baju kebaya is allowed. But now I realized, the attire doesn't really matter, as long as you're looking neat and decent. Of course, it must be formal. I even bought a new pair of shoes, black leather heels. Not those typical ugly ones la, this one is presentable even with a casual outfit :p
Okay. Here comes the main point.
I couldn't sleep well that night, woke up an hour earlier! Trust me, I didn't want to, it just happened!
Had breakfast, then headed to Open University. I reached there 40 minutes earlier. FORTY MINUTES EARLIER. THIS IS LEW KAI LING. HA HA HA.
I see lotsa people wearing formal attire as well, there are only 3 chinese girls there haha. And I was the only one wearing baju kebaya. :p mainstream bleh. ahahaha. AH THEN, I SAW SAW JAY HAN. and Justin
Chan lol. .________________.
Okay, I was kinda relieved actually, at least there is someone I know. Then I went upstairs, took a seat, signed some documents, handed in my clear folder which has been filled with all my personal documents and certs. After that we were divided into 4 groups. There wasn't many people actually, for one session. For my session there were only 18 interviewees. My group consisted of 5 person including me, 2 malay boys, 1 indian girl, 1 malay girl and me. Haha.
Then we were assigned into the first room.
It was a mini game, carried out fully in BM. So we were to converse in BM fully, that was still quite fine for me. Just some normal conversation and discussion in BM.
There were 3 games in total, the first was a maths question. It's just a simple maths question which you've to find the answer with your group mates, then present it on how you get the answer.
The second was similar, maths question as well.
The third one was a problem based question. They gave us a situation.
The question went like this: A boy drove and crashed the divider, then sank into the river bed. His hand was broken, so he couldn't release his seat belt. After 2 hours when the rescuers came, they found him still alive. Why?So we just crapped anything we could think of. LOL. Kind of like a physics question I guess.
The session ended. We proceeded to the second room, the English presentation. That wouldn't be a big problem for me. The title was Illegal Immigrant and we can talk on anything about the title. Nothing much to say about this haha.
Move on to the third session.

Debate in BM.
Alright.
Fine.
They wanna ditch me.
The debate title was "Penduduk yang berlebihan akan membebankan negara."
I've no problem preparing the points, but in terms of presenting it, ESPECIALLY IN A DEBATING WAY, you better kill me. LOL.
I stuttered! The malay guy in my group, Khairul, he performed very well. He was a debater. I can say :(
Okay. Screwed up this part. End of the story.
They had personal interviews in the previous years. I believe I can do well in that part! So unlucky they don't have it this year :(
It's fine, the past is the past.
So the whole interview ended like this. We went back to our waiting room, got our folders and stuff then we left.
We got down and took some photos for memories haha. I only managed to take two, with the closer team mates.
So this is the debater Khairul. He speaks good English too :o |
Visvaa from Bahau. Btw, I found someone in this picture. |
So the moral of the story is, no matter how confident you are, no matter how much you believe in yourself, no matter how good you think you are, you have to bow when reality strikes you. lol.
Now 我听天由命吧. I wanna jap sei gai. *Take dead chickens* which means to get the opportunity which doesn't belong to me at first, I take the chance only after other people reject it . Hahahaha.
One last word before I end this entry.
I WANNA GO TO GERMANY!!
*for free* :p
